Picnic play readings

Enjoy great food, wine and coffee and help Brisbane’s finest theatrical talents bring new shows to the stage.

‘Picnic Play Readings’ gives local writers, actors, directors and other creatives an opportunity to share their formative ideas with an intimate audience at Brisbane’s Chrome Street Gallery

In return, the audience can share their thoughts of what worked well and what could be done better in future performances through a facilitated and respectful discussion.

This program is for creatives who are developing a theatrical work. This includes plays, cabaret, musicals and any other performance work involving spoken word.

The program is open to creatives who want to:

  • Develop a new work

  • Develop an existing/published work
